Jugglers on Stilts are Still Hip

Day 3 in rainy/snowy (yes you read that right) Atlanta. It started and ended on a high note. This morning was the official “opening ceremony” for the multi-day seminar (even though the first classes took place yesterday). It was a fairly nice show with some nifty special effects (i.e. light shows, exploding confetti fireworks, confetti “rain,” etc.) and several cool acts, including an impressive magician and a couple of “entertainers” (you know, those comedians who get people to participate in whacky games on stage). Ten minutes ago, I returned to my hotel room from having attended our “opening celebration” at the World of Coca-Cola, where not one but two highly energetic parties took place. They had multiple live bands, jugglers on stilts, celebrity look-alikes including a very convincing Dolly Parton, and station after station of the best catering companies in the city of Atlanta. The food was magnificent, for the most part; there were a couple of moments when I wondered what I was eating before tossing whatever it was in the garbage. Drinks overflowed from the bars; yes, I had quite a few. And, in the World of Coca-Cola “museum” building, there was a guy in the Coca-Cola polar bear costume who was more than game to cut a rug on the dance floor. I left while I still had my wits about me. Plus, I wanted to be alert for our classes tomorrow, which I hope don’t suck as badly as the ones I took today. Oh, did I mention that it snowed in Atlanta today? I don’t know why I’m so surprised about this. Oh, well.

The Most Annoying Commercial/Advert Ever!

Okay, the normal commercial normally lasts under thirty seconds. But, this “remixed” version (and there are several on YouTube that are even longer in duration) emphasizes how annoying simply repeating what they considered a “catchy” slogan can be. Evidently, the slogan did catch on, but with adverse effects. I’ve talked to many people who casually mention how irritating the “Head On” commercials are, especially now that there are additional products from that company that use the same marketing campaign.
