Cirque du Soleil: Corteo

I have just returned home from watching Cirque du Soleil’s Corteo and it was, in a word, sublime. From the moment you step into the blue and yellow striped Grand Chapiteau, excitement begins to bubble up inside you as you take in the sights and the sounds. The two-hour show was a feast for all the senses with some unexpected interactive segments that will leave you with a sense of subdued wonderment. I’ve seen televised versions of Cirque du Soleil shows in the past but nothing compares to experiencing the real thing. Although the show had some “filler” parts that I could’ve done without, the effective marriage of unparalleled athleticism and unique histrionics made for an overall great time.
