With gas prices hitting record levels, the traditional family road trip has become a source of dread. It now costs some serious money to drive a few hundred miles.

i don’t use my a/c cuz it broke.

and i’ve started letting off the gas a lot more in town. especially when i know im heading for a red light. im gonna have to stop anyway so i might as well start a lot sooner by coasting. I do most my driving in town so we’ll see if this pays off…

The price in the UK is at a record high! It’s scary fueling up now…
My husband drives a 4×4 and apart form when he is going to work the car is on the drive.
I have company car so although I don’t physically feel the pinch in my pocket I see my payslip being whittled away with high taxes!
Credit Crunch? Just pure greed and dodgy politics in the most part.

I see all these articles, but to me, it doesn’t seem like anyone cares. I’ve a 20 minute commute on an interstate and I see cars whizzing past ~80 mph, only driver (no passengers) in big minivans … etc.

@ smysore - yes, I don’t think Americas fascination with driving will not die any time soon, but here’s hoping that the little steps those of use who decide to take today matter in the future
